Kennard’s focus on measuring culture and making positive changes in behaviour has lead to lower costs, lower staff turnover, greater engagement, pride in individual storage centres, and improved customer service. A more constructive culture also gave Kennards the confidence to take over its main competitor in 2004, doubling in size to become the market leader.

Team engagement and culture are the fabric of Kennards goal to make the brand a famous household name.

Recent developments include:

• Kennards acquisition of properties in New Zealand, in 2007.
• Significantly in 2008, Kennards agreed to buy-out the ownership of their J.V partner in 38 properties.
• Kennards Self Storage remains a privately owned Family Business.
